My honda civic coupe 95 is overheating the fan is not cutting in and the fan switch is black any idears what c?

Not sure what you mean about the switch being black - Like toasted ?? It happens. There should be a plug in the wire going to the electric fan, so, with the engine off, unplug the fan & jump the wire directly to the battery. If the fan comes on, then you know the problem is up-stream somewhere.
