Why are 7 of the top 10 "most dangerous cities" in Blue (liberal) states?

Richmond CA, Martinez CA, Vallejo CA. I'm not sure about Southern CA but Compton and Long Beach should be on the list. All the states which try to restrict gun laws and concealed permits seem to have higher crime. I am from Norther CA, just stating my observations not any political opinions.
