Is Ypsilanti safer than Flint?

Hello, I am going to college in the fall, and I want to go to EMU out in ypsilanti. I live in a pretty bad part of flint right now and I can't stand it. I'd like to know if I will feel any safer when I am at ypsilanti. I have heard some bad things about ypsilanti, such as a high crime rate and drug problems. Is it safe? I can't live like this much longer, Flint is a shithole. I dont want Ypsilanti to be yet another shithole.
